BRING A BUDDY NIGHT
Wednesday, October 2, 2019 is Bring a Buddy Night. We are asking students to bring a buddy or friend to try a free class with them. Students should bring their buddy to their usual class! Sensei says if you have two friends and can’t decide which one to invite, bring them both!!

HALLOWEEN “TRUNK OR TREAT” KARATE CLASS
Don’t miss class on Saturday, October 26th! This is an All Belts Kids Class….Make sure you wear your costumes…but remember, we still work out! Lots of Halloween surprises in store for all of our young students! Our class is from 9:00 to 9:45am.

We’ve added a new part to our “Haunted Dojo” called “Trunk or Treat”. This will take place immediately after the children’s class at 9:45 am We are asking parents and/or interested parties to bring treats to hand out to our students from their vehicle trunks, which will be parked on the side of our building. This could be a safe alternative to trick or treating in neighborhoods. Students with little brothers or sisters or adult students with children are also welcome to do the “Trunk or Treat”.

PICTURE DAY
We are again holding our Picture Day at the Academy. On Saturday - November 2, 2019 we have a photographer coming in to take pictures of students in their uniforms. We have a sign up sheet, which has worked well in the past. You sign up for a specific time….and don’t have to wait all day for your turn! Make sure you choose your package ahead of time, and have, your check written out to make the process run smoothly! Payment methods will be check or cash only.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WEEK
Every year we offer our parents & students to shop at our Academy for the holiday season. We have our sale a little early, in an effort to avoid items being out of stock or back ordered. We offer 10% off all merchandise purchased with the exception of “bundled” merchandise, which will be displayed in our holiday catalog. This is a good time to upgrade your old gi! Our Christmas Shopping Week will be November 4 to 9, 2019.

DATE FOR CHRISTMAS SHIAI & SENIOR BLACK BELT CHRISTMAS DINNER

AUTHOR SENSEI REESE RIGBY ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF HIS BOOK  1/18/13
NEW MEMOIR REVEALS MARTIAL ARTIST'S SUCCESS STORY
Dover, Del. - In his new memoir "They Call Me Sensei" (published by AuthorHouse), author and martial arts expert Reese Rigby takes readers through the major beats of his life, revealing the details of his success as a martial artist and business owner.
"They Call Me Sensei" is the story of Rigby's journey into Isshin-ryu Karate-do from beginner white belt to ninth-degree black belt grandmaster. Readers will follow him from his humble beginnings when his school had 14 students to his established success when his school grew to approximately three hundred karate students and an additional one hundred combined cardio kickboxing and tai chi students. By sharing his story with his students, family and others interested in martial arts, Rigby also pays tribute to his Isshin-ryu instructors, Grandmaster Angi Uezu and Grandmaster Tom Lewis, and his tai chi instructor Sifu Diane Cannon.
Rigby's life story is more than just a martial artist's success story; his memoir is an inspiring story to anyone with goals in life. "I think the book shows that if you have a dream, it can become a reality," he says. "From a young man wanting to learn martial arts to a 9th degree black belt is a story in itself! I show what it takes to achieve this."
His book can be purchased in hardcover, softcover,or ebook at Authorhouse.com, Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com
